After working as a betting shop manager for twenty years, at the age of 39 I decided I needed a new challenge and career change as my future behind the counter was not looking good. Online betting was becoming increasingly popular, meaning high street shops were less busy and closing down.

I decided to take the plunge and give tiling a shot! It would be a dream to be my own boss and learn a new skill in a trade, but this dream seemed so far away and I needed to learn the trade within a short period of time.

Henry explained all aspects of tiling very clearly and is very knowledgeable - he knows absolutely everything worth knowing about tiling! He also made sure there was always time for questions.

The course structure was brilliant. Starting off with basics then increasing in complexity as we moved through the weeks. Even covering herringbone tiling on the last few days. The course was also remarkably good value for money.

After the course, I eased myself into the tiling world only a few days a week, buying new tools as I went along and then buying my van!

I subbed for a contractor for a while before quickly deciding I wanted to go on my own. I wanted the freedom and work-life balance that being your own boss gives you - the exact reason why I chose this path in the first place.
